The course instructors for the Air Transportation System and Infrastructure will be Prof.Dr. R. John Hansmann, Prof.Dr. Amedeo Odoni, and Prof.Dr. Hamsa Balakrishnan.
Teaching Level
- This course is a course in master's degree.
- Students will have a basic knowledge of air transportation systems and infrastructures but with some review to be provided, where necessary.
- Students should have a basic knowledge of the aviation industry and must have a work experience with an airline company.
Course Description
- The course introduces current practice, developing trends, and advanced concepts for Air Transportation Infrastructure including Airport, Air Traffic Control, and Airline systems. The course describes current systems and management processes, as well as emerging technologies and concepts of operation. It addresses economic and regulatory considerations, as well as key issues such as capacity, congestion, environmental impact and security.

Final Exam and Project Information
- Final Exam will be held at ITU SDKM Senate Room (i.e. the classroom we use) on May 31, 2014 at 11:00-14:00.
- Final Project deadline is on June 6, 2014 at 17:00.
